Values & Options

The Values and Options initiative forms part of this year’s School Development Plan and we hope to use the programme to further enrich our positive climate for teaching and learning, alongside our existing personal and social education programme. Values and Options Education is a programme used by an increasing number of schools in Surrey and is well established both across the country and internationally. It has been demonstrated to improve children’s sense of self, respect for others and to contribute to the raising of academic standards.

Each month we will be looking at one value and there will be a range of opportunities, both in some lessons and in assemblies, to reflect on the value in question. An important part of the success of the programme is ensuring that we keep you fully informed about the values focused on in school, so each month there will be a values newsletter giving you relevant information.
