Buddy System

At Wray Common we have a Buddy System which started in 1995. The year groups are paired up as follows:

• Reception and Year 5
• Year 6 and Year 1
• Year 4 and Year 2
• Year 3 vary their buddy partners.

We buddy for a selection of reasons;

• Year 5 buddy with the new Reception children in their first few weeks, helping them at lunchtime in the dining hall and in the playground until they feel confident in their new surroundings.
• We walk down to and back from our Christmas Carol service at St Matthews church in Redhill with our buddies.
  On other occasions, we pair up with our buddies to read books together and sometimes act as coaches with spelling and word games.
  Buddies are there to help and guide.
