School Events
It was Climate Change day at Wray Common on Tuesday 15th September 2009. During the day every child in the school learnt about ways to be sustainable and help save our planet.
The morning kicked off with a Reduce, Reuse, Recycle drama, followed by lessons in classes relating to the 3R’s (oh no, not Reading, Riting and Rithmatic). As it was raining we ate our healthy lunches in our classrooms, afterwards deciding in which rubbish bag we should place our rubbish – recyclable materials, food waste, and other waste. (At the end of the day, Miss Collis tipped out the rubbish in front of Key Stage 2 children. Everyone was horrified at the amount of food waste thrown away.)
In the afternoon, we all painted our feet and took photos of them as part of the One Million Feet to Copenhagen initiative – an event aiming to persuade world leaders in Copenhagen in December that we are all responsible for our planet and that we care about the future of it for the generations to come. Click on the image to visit the Footprint Friends website and see if you can find a pair of feet that belong to somebody you know!
